Arriva Rail London’s communications team steams ahead with four award wins

12 June 2024

Arriva Rail London’s (ARL) communications team achieved remarkable success at the Internal Communications and Engagement Awards on Tuesday 11 June 2024 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, securing two gold awards for Best Evaluation Process of Internal Communications and Best Ongoing Commitment to Internal Communications, as well as a silver award for Best Internal Communications from the Transport and Logistics Sector.

This recognition follows the team’s triumph at the DataComms Awards on Wednesday 5 June 2024, winning the Best Data-Driven Internal Communications category.

The accolades were awarded for the communications team’s partnership with 106 Communications, which saw the internal communications agency undertake an audit of how the train operator engages and communicates with employees. The audit evaluated how both the business and colleagues engage and communicate, as well as discovering what colleagues want from communications. The ARL team used the findings of the audit to implement a plan which improved performance across all channels, creating a step change in the approach to data and insight driven communications at ARL.

The Best Evaluation Process award highlights ARL’s proficiency in measuring a campaign’s impact in alignment with its objectives, showcasing the team’s analytical capabilities and strategic approach. The Best Ongoing Commitment award recognises a team or organisation that consistently demonstrates a long-term dedication to maintaining high standards in internal communications, reflecting ARL’s sustained efforts and continuous improvement in this field.

Sara Barrow, head of communications for Arriva Rail London, said: “We are thrilled to receive these awards, which truly reflect our team’s hard work and dedication. These accolades are a testament to our team’s relentless effort and commitment over the past 18 months.”
